What are the comparative transportation costs. I know for our V70 diesel we have to go to a garage to fill up the tank and the garage has to be filled up by a tanker from the refinery which in turn has to be filled up by an oil tanker.

With our Zoe we just plug it in and it charges off the panels on the roof. There would have been emissions manufacturing the panels, but then the same applies to the petrol station, which also requires electricity to run (as we discovered in the recent power cuts due to the floods).

The Zoe became our only car for a while.
