I think you are thinking more about the straw men held up by the “anti-woke”. In the UK we see the annual “woke war on Christmas” pushed in the tabloid press. It turns out this is just made up to stir up a bit of indignation to sell papers, rather than being real. The only real war on Christmas I’ve been able to find has been early Christian settlers in the US who did ban Christmas.

Woke in reality seems to be about be decent rather than an asshole to people. Acting like a gentleman rather than a tyrant.

Simple language does make a difference. Have you noticed how shops and stalls are manned rather than staffed. I want a world where my daughter is as equally valued as my son. My mixed race nephew is not judged on his looks but his skills.

To me that is woke.

You will always find some outlier extremist. None of the lesbian I know are man haters, none of the Christian priests are paedophiles.
