I think there was a lot of FUD around EVs as they disrupt a huge fossil fuel car industry, which impacts a massive number of livelihoods.

Looking at the complexity of vehicles, our 14 year old diesel has far more parts and electronics than our 3rd hand EV. Which is one of the reasons our Volvo costs so much more to service than our Renault Zoe.
