I started this off, when the kids were very small, with a Fjallraven #21 backpack with nappies, wipes, a changing pad, muslin etc and this evolved as the kids grew up. It started to contain packamacs, colouring pencils, drinks, paper (some large post-its were great for trains, planes and busses) and some treats.
I still use this bag when we are out, but the kids are now big enough to carry their own adventure bags, so mine now contains dog paraphernalia.
But when I’m out on my own, I’ve got one of the larger sling bags with:
Anker MagSafe charger
String (thin paracord)
Mask (sealed disposable)
Tissues (pocket pack)
Merino beanie / cap (depending on the weather)
Fieldnotes notebook (well, a knock off)
Fischer spacepen
Spare disposable contacts.
3 nano bags (I would highly recommend)
Penknife (SAK Alox Bantam)
Fred flask (flat metal water bottle)
Shakedry goretex waterproof (I live in England)
£ 50 in cash
Paracetamol
Earbuds (AirPods Pro2 or Bose Open Ultra)
A book (I listen to a lot of audiobooks but I’m trying to get back into physical books)
A small tin of mints
A USB C cable
A small bottle of hand sanitizer
iPad mini
Separately I’ve got a big pencil case with an anker charger and a selection of cables which I drop into whatever bag I’m taking my MacBook in for work.
